Project Striping and Clean Up

Over the next few days, the Contractor is working on restoring striping throughout the project on Felt Street, 17th Avenue, 24th Avenue, and Brommer Street. They are also performing final cleanup and inspections around the project site. It is anticipated that the project will be complete within the next couple weeks.

Remaining Paving Work and Schedule

The majority of final paving was completed last week on 24th Avenue, Felt Street, 17th Avenue, and Brommer Street. The remaining areas of paving are highlighted below. The Contractor is completing the remaining pavement restoration on 17th Avenue the first part of this week. They have also begun grinding at the end of Felt Street past 24th Avenue and in the Villa Santa Cruz mobile home park today, in order to complete paving the remainder of the week.
 
One-lane two way traffic control will be maintained through the work zones. Please follow the directions of the traffic control flaggers. Bicycles are asked to share the road. Vehicles and bicycles are reminded to use extreme caution when traveling through the work area as the surfaces may be rough and uneven until finish paving is complete.

   

Updated Paving Zone Information

The Contractor is continuing paving operations on Felt Street, 17th Avenue, and Brommer Street. The work zone will move throughout the day, and the flagger stations will move to accommodate the work area as paving is completed. Contractor will maintain one-lane, two-way traffic control through the work zone at all times.

 

 Please use caution when driving through the area as there are uneven roadways until paving is completed. We appreciate your continued patience.

Final Paving In Progress

The Contractor has begun the last phase of the project which is completing the finished trench paving. Paving work is beginning at 24th Avenue heading north towards Felt Street. It will then continue west of 24th Avenue on Felt Street toward 17th Avenue.

There will be one lane open for travel in both directions which will be controlled by traffic flaggers. The work zone and flagger stations will move throughout the day as paving work is completed. Please expect delays in the area. We appreciate your continued patience as the project nears completion.

Project Update

The Contractor is completing final inspection and testing of the new sewer lines, and completing existing line abandonment and clean up tasks over the next couple weeks along 17th Avenue, Felt Street and 24th Avenue.

Final finished paving is tentatively scheduled to begin the first week in March, weather permitting. More details will be provided as the date approaches.

Sewer Abandonment Work

With the new gravity sewer installed, the Contractor now begins the process of abandoning the old, out of service sewer lines that the new sewer has replaced. Expect a small crew with moving, localized traffic control in various locations along 17th Avenue, Felt Street, Brommer Street, and 24th Avenue.

Paving & Holiday Break

The Contractor is paving on small areas on Brommer Street and 17th Avenue today.

There is no work planned between December 25, 2014 and January 2, 2015.
